Amy had a camera in-hand by 5 years old...
Amy’s passion for photography began in childhood on her family’s farm in Ohio, where she delighted in capturing the playfulness of kittens and the muddy mischief of pigs. What started as a love for capturing simple, joyful moments grew into a lifelong pursuit of visual storytelling.
While in college, she invested in her first manual 35mm camera and 200mm telephoto lens, deepening her technical skills and artistic eye. After graduation, a move to Wyoming transformed her photography in profound ways. Her career in Wildlife Biology opened the door to extraordinary landscapes and wildlife encounters in places such as Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and the National Elk Refuge.
Amy is a mindful photographer, she moves through nature with deep respect and patience, never chasing wildlife or disturbing their natural rhythm for the sake of a photograph. Because she spends so much time outdoors, she believes that the right moments will come—capturing images only when animals are already near park or forest roads, on their own terms. Amy understands the land and that its creatures deserve space and dignity. Amy challenges herself—continually growing, learning, and refining her craft while honoring the wild places that bring her peace.
After living 24 years in the Jackson area, Amy and her husband moved to Bigfork, Montana. It was time for a change and the goal was to open a photography gallery. It was time! Amy is the proud and successful owner of Mountain Vibes Gallery & Gifts. The walls are filled with her beautiful photographs and she spends a lot of time designing other items with her photographs. Those can be found on the website for her store: mountainvibesmt.com
